About the Event

We are having a little party

Starting with a short beginners class to get you going. This night is for the dancers to socialise and practice. It is also for those who toy with the idea of joining our weekly class, but are not quite sure if it is for them. Meet the dancers, ask any questions you may have, have a go.

Bar is open and there is high chance of patio being ready for us to enjoy a little bit of outdoors (weather permitting)

Why would you learn to salsa dance? To have fun mostly. Coming to classes puts you at risk of making new friends, having a giggle, keeping fit and keeping your brain super active while it's learning to coordinate your moves to the music.

£6 per person £5 with Totum or NUS card Paid cash

Doors open 19:45 Class 20:00 Dancing and socialising 20:45

First time learning to partner dance? Here's a few tips 1 SHOES - ones that won't slip off, or flap about. Check if you are able to comfortably stand on tiptoes in them. Make your life easier and don't wear shoes with a strong grip on the floor, avoid rubber soles. You don't need to spend a fortune on dance shoes, just chuck a couple pairs of lightweight shoes you already have in a bag, and test them on site. Ladies - avoid high heels, the ones dancers wear are professionally made, your disco heels WILL murder you.

2 Leave your jewellery at home, watches can tangle in partners hair, earrings can get caught on partners sleeve etc

3 Wear whatever clothes you fancy, as long as you're comfortable

4 Don't stress. There is no exam or judges. We are learning to dance socially, i.e. for fun, not for competitions.

COVID SAFETY:

1. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell. We are in close contact. 2. It is your choice if you wish to wear a mask and if you want to switch partners or stay in bubble 3. Please use hand sanitizers available on site

THE VENUE The RUFC has a big car parking area behind the venue, watch that big drop on access road! Drive very slowly. Room has a wooden floor and plenty of chairs to change your footwear. Nearest bus stop on Keighley road, is 120yrd walk, with last bus leaving for Halifax town at 9pm.
